How to play " Practice makes Perfect " and some examples
of the students playing with it.

I published English Proverb Card " Practice Makes Perfect " in 1998.
It consists of two sets of 72 cards. The first set is the Proverb
cards printed with 72 proverbs or sayings, and the second set has
pictures and key words representing the proverbs on the side ( the
Picture cards ) and the latter halves of the proverbs on the other side .
( the Letter cards )
There are mainly two ways of playing " Practice Makes Perfect ."
One is Irohagaruta style and the other is Hyakunin-isshu style.
When you play Irohagaruta style, you use the Picture cards. Sometimes
the key words on the Picture cards are very similar.( chart 4 )
If you play Hyakunin-isshu style, you use the Letter cards. In that
case NO.14 and NO.34 are very similar.
Also, " Practice Makes Perfect " comes with a tape or a CD .( Compact
Disk )
Playing KARUTA is a good way of learning languages, both English and
Japanese. So,I will introduce some of the ways and the examples of
those students.
